It is easy to do, rather it is easy to say... that is, we all do it from time to time. We want to do something for God, but we really want somebody to tell us what that is!! I can give you an example of what I mean. I talk with a lot of people on a weekly basis who would like to be involved in something at the Bakersfield Rescue Mission but aren’t quit sure what. They may have never been there, or they have not been there in a long time, or some combination of the both with a lot of heresay thrown in.
My first line is this, “Let’s set up a tour!” Lets’ take a stroll through God’s mission field! Lets’ talk to, share with, and see the lives as well as the programs in action.
Now as we are taking the tour, plan on seeing and experiencing a lot; It will not only be what God is doing in the lives of those you will see, but what God is doing in you as well. Have you been called to the mission field? Are you ready to go to the next level with your life in regards to ministry maturity? Or are you ready to make a difference in other people’s lives because God has made a difference in yours?
Now, after the tour, reflect on what and who you saw. Seek the Lord on what to do next. See if your church or group is involved in missions. Please remember that we need your help, your heart, your hands and your financial support as the mission field runs on the resources of generous people every day. So, if you’ve got some time, and you have sensed God tugging at your heart, then...Come, tour with us, It is well worth the ride!
