Administration

Administration consists of accounting and the business department.  Both divisions are directly supervised by the Director of Administration.  The Administration Department, in cooperation with department coordinators, are continually assessing expenses and finding innovative ways to demonstrate good stewardship, while offering the highest quality of service to each Mission department.  Work therapy positions are used by administration to train and help our residents.  It is the goal of our division coordinators to assist our discipleship residents in learning skills and responsibility for their positions so they will be job-ready upon graduation of their program.

The Accounting and Business departments ensure the financial accountability of the Mission.  The Business Department manages donations, income, grant writing, budgeting, human resources and general business of the Mission.

The Food Services Department is the heart and soul of the Mission. Serving more than 600 meals per day, the Food Service Department has been the backbone of the Mission since its opening in 1951. This department serves the men and women of the discipleship program, the HIS Center guests, and anyone who comes to the Mission in need of a meal. Three meals are served each day; Breakfast - 6:30am, Lunch - 11am , & Dinner - 5pm. The Bakersfield Rescue Mission serves more meals (20k per month/average) than any other non-profit food service provider in Kern County.
