Lots of Garbage, Lots of Fun

The Keep Bakersfield Beautiful event has led the nation in the amount of volunteers the past two years. The Bakersfield Rescue Mission joined the 3,600 volunteers participating this year. The Keep Bakersfield Beautiful clean-up is an important annual event for the Rescue Mission. By helping to create a clean neighborhood, our program members discover a wonderful way to give back to our community.

Here is what some of our Program Members thought of the experience:

“It was fun to help clean up the area where we live.”
“The homeless in the area said we did an excellent job.”
“The shirts were bright and comfortable.”
“We got lots of “thumbs up” from cars driving by.”
“I enjoyed being apart of keeping our city clean.”
“There was lots of laughter and lots of fun.”
“The community gives to us with donations of food and other items. This was a way for us to give back to the community.”
