Women's Hoops Supports Bakersfield Rescue Mission

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. Members of the CSUB womens basketball team made a formal presentation of their prize for winning the NCAAs Pack The House Challenge to Executive Director Dan Gorman and the Bakersfield Rescue Mission Tuesday at the CSUB Icardo Center.

Instead of enjoying Thanksgiving Day at home, Rollin Strode, co-pastor of Grace Baptist Church, was doing his best Thursday to follow the instructions on his T-shirt: "love God * love others * reach the world".
Community gives to Scan Away Hunger

During the December 2009 Holidays many local residents gave back to our community through SCAN AWAY HUNGER, a campaign to support the Bakersfield Rescue Mission. On Thursday, February 11th sponsors were proud to present a check to the Bakersfield Rescue Mission in the amount of $28,241 dollars. Presenting the check were KBAK Eyewitness News Meteorologist Miles Muzio, KUZZ Radio Personality Brent Michaels, VONS General Manager John Barker and his children and the Harlem Globetrotters. Accepting on behalf of the Rescue Mission was Chaplin Frazier.
